Howdy,
It was a year ago that I was taking Rodney Saulsberry�s movie trailer voice over class. ( www.rodneysaulsberry.com ) He is just great! We both celebrate our 50th birthday on Tuesday 7-11-2006.
Let me say that I have not persued any Trailer VO work, however I was able to do an ad for a local video production company in movie trailer style! It was my first job that came purely from an internet search. I have had my site for nearly two years! ( www.voiceopolis.com )
I was requested for a promo video advertisement for the Cytek Studios ( http://www.cytekweb.com/ ) ad that runs in some of our local theaters! I had an exciting surprise yesterday while I was seated in the theater waiting for "Superman Returns" to begin. Before the show, the theater runs ads for local businesses here in Las Vegas.
As I was watching the screen, I saw the animated "Elvis Impersonator" character that the company uses. My mind was immediately grasping the familiarity of the character, when suddenly booming from the theater sound system was the movie trailer sounding voice of... myself!
Wow, what a fantastic surprise! Since I was at the movies solo I turned to the couple next to me and excitedly told them that "hey that's my voice". By the time I turned back, it was over. 15 seconds of... ahem.. fame... sort of! VO of ad is attached.
I have been talking with Pola Muzyka, a video producer who also has written a series of Christian children's books. She is also the founder of Christian Media Alliance, ( http://www.christianmediaalliance.com/ ) and an artist, ( http://www.polamuzyka.com/ ). We are working toward having me do the audio book version of her Christian children's books.
Also I have also been corresponding with a bloke down under in Australia about how I can record audio books for download, and sell them on ebay!
For my own birthday this next week, I bought my own electric blues guitar, a guitar amp, and accouterments, and I am going to learn to play. I figure if I don� find out now if I can, then I will look back and wonder. If I can play, then I will know, and if I can�t play, I can write if off as at least a trial!
